U.S. Monetary Base now Up by $195.5 bn (7.4%) in 2013

Since 26 December 2012, the U.S. monetary base has now increased by $195.5 billion, or 7.4%, so far for 2013 according to numbers released by FRED.

At $2.8286 trillion, the monetary base hit a new record high for the second bi-weekly period in a row. Looks like Bernanke is indeed using his helicopter to unleash his fiat currency. Lesson: if at first it does not work (to help the economy, the real economy that is), then try, try again - at a grander scale.
