According to recent figures released by the ECB, base money in the euro area dropped by 5.93% in January 2013 compared to previous month. This left base money, now at €1.534126 trillion, at the lowest level since January last year.
M1, M2 and M3 money supply all continued to move higher, both on a monthly and yearly basis with M1 displaying the highest growth as it increased 0.48% compared to last month and 6.51% compared to last year.
