M2 Money Supply Growth for Norway Decreases Further in February

The M2 money supply growth rate for Norway dropped to 3.76% y/y in February according to figures released by Statistics Norway. This was the slowest growth rate since October last year when it grew by 3.07% and the growth rate has gradually decreased for the last three consecutive months.

The longer term trend for the M2 money supply growth rate (12 month moving average y/y percentage change) was 3.76% as of February, the lowest for 25 months.

Base money (M0) for February increased slightly on previous month, but fell 2.99% on same month last year. Having decreased for eight consecutive months on a y/y basis, base money is now 51.62% lower than the all-time high set in July 2009.
