The Wall Street Journal reports (my bold),
Popularity for the monarchy remains high at close to 80%, according to recent polls, despite some debates on the cost of maintaining a royal family at a time when the trading nation struggles to emerge from a protracted economic recession. The total annual cost of the monarchy is almost €40 million, with Willem-Alexander set to receive an annual salary of €825,000.The Dutch government is taking a more relaxed approach toward austerity indeed.
